DESCRIPTION:
A good friend taught me this game 30+ years ago and I've been hopelessly addicted ever since. This is a 2008 Deluxe Editon of Titan: The Monster Slugathon Fantasy Wargame by Valley Games. This was the last printing of this game and the game is no longer in print. I purchased this copy new and direct from Valley Games in 2008 thinking I would at least try it with the new boards, graphics, etc., but I never did (I'm hopelessly hooked on the 1982 Avalon Hill printing of this game). This copy was NEVER USED, is UNPUNCHED, and has sat on shelves and in closets since I bought it. The box is not shrink wrapped and one corner of the box split during a move. Other than that the rest is in un-used perfect condition. This game will be packaged, protected, and insured so it arrives in the same condition it is now. Take a look at the pics and let me know if you have any questions.
Inside the box you have everything pictured:
Original 6-Sided Dice Set (1) Two-piece Folding Game Board (1) The Law of Titan Rulebook (2) Mustering Refernce Cards (1) Factory Sealed Set Of Un-punched Creatures/Markers Unused Battlelands Set Plastic Tray To Hold All Markers During Gameplay
This game is an all time classic originally produced by Gorgonstar, but made famous by The Avalon Hill Game Company. Titan still has a very devoted following, which is a tribute to the depth of the various strategies and gameplay. In fact, the game is still played at the highest levels at the World Boardgaming Championships each year. The game is divided into two realms, the masterboard and the battlelands. On the masterboard, legions of mythical creatures roam about trying to recruit bigger and badder monsters and kill opposing legions in the process. When a combat occurs, the action moves to the battleland corresponding to the terrain type of the boardspace the fight is taking place in. After lots of die rolling, strategic movement, attacking and defending, the army that remains is returned to the masterboard with points for the victory.
The points are used to recruit Angels and Archangels and to augment the player's primary character: The Titan. As the points increase, the Titans become ever more powerful. A powerful titan is able to kill most other characters with a single blow. But be careful: If the Titan dies, the player is out of the game.
The last Titan standing is the winner of the game.
