Huge Lot 800+ USA First Day Covers & Event Covers FDC 1930s-2010s - 275 Photos

HUGE LOT -- APPROXIMATELY 800+ COVERS
This is a very large lot: an estimated 800 to 830 covers, counted from the photos (most photos show three covers). It is an estimate, not an exact hand count.

Up for sale is a box lot of covers, sold as one lot with everything shown in the photos. The lot is mostly USA first day covers and USA event covers, with a minor amount of other covers mixed in.

What is in it
• USA first day covers -- the bulk of the lot, from the 1930s through the 2010s. Most are cacheted (ArtCraft and Colorano "Silk" among them); some, mainly from the 1940s, have no cachet. Many are addressed, some are unaddressed.
• USA event covers -- stamp club and stamp show covers (including Clearwater Stamp Club / BAYPEX and SPA convention covers), naval and ship cancels, commemorative anniversary covers, and similar.
• Other covers, a minor part of the lot -- including United Nations first day covers, Canal Zone first day covers, a few foreign covers (for example Italy / Vatican and a German airmail cover), ordinary mailed covers, aerogrammes, "last day of sale" covers, gold replica stamp covers and a few souvenir cards / pages.
• Two sealed "Hawaiian Missionary" souvenir sheets -- two copies of the 2002 USA 37c "The Hawaiian Missionary Stamps of 1851-1853" souvenir sheet on first-day-of-issue panels (New York, NY, October 24, 2002), each still in its original shrink wrap. They are the 204th and 205th photos -- two separate items, not the same one photographed twice.

Topics seen include Star Wars (2007), Disney, space and Apollo / Gemini / Project Mercury, Famous Americans (1940), WWII patriotic and victory covers, Celebrate the Century, Art of the American Indian, presidents, Christmas, wildlife, flags and many more.

There are duplicates -- some designs appear several times, and at least one photo shows a stack of the same cover.

Fleetwood "Autographed" cover: an American Samoa first day cover in a Fleetwood folder featuring artist Herb Kawainui Kane (the 210th photo shows the folder open, with the cover). The front of the folder is printed "Autographed" by Fleetwood as part of the product. That is Fleetwood's own labeling of its commercial product, not an independent certification, and no separate certificate or documentation is included. The printed front of the folder is not pictured.

How much is shown
The photos show every cover in this lot. The first photo below shows the whole box; the rest show the covers from it. Where several identical covers are fanned out in a stack (the 202nd photo), only the top one is fully visible.

Condition
Mixed condition overall, as you would expect from a lot covering such a wide range of years -- from modern issues back through the 1930s, possibly earlier. Specific issues noted:
• Yellowing / toning on many of the 1940s covers
• Staining on covers in the 139th and 173rd photos
• Ragged or torn edges on the top cover in the 110th photo and the middle cover in the 219th photo
