For sale is a beautiful example of a first generation Vostok AMPHIBIA diving watch with the 2209 movement.
This is an original Vostok Amphibia 2209 diver with 18 jewels, a shockproof stainless steel case, and originally waterproof to 200m. The Crystal is acrylic. The case measures 52mm x 38mm x 43mm with crown, and is 12mm thick.
For me the most interesting aspect of this watch is that the dial is written in Cyrillic rather than the more usual Latin, making it somewhat more rare. This one was made for the Russian domestic market rather than for export at the factory at Christopol.
It is keeping good time and winds easilly, and overall works very well.
Everything original and correct, with engraved caseback.
Due to this watches age - over 50 years - this watch is no longer suitable for diving or immersion in water under any circumstances.
