Antique Underwood Standard Portable Typewriter dating from approximately 1925.

A genuine early American-made Underwood portable featuring the desirable 3-bank keyboard design, original glass-topped keys, original carrying case and surviving factory decals.

Serial number 139490.

The machine retains its original black enamel finish with gold Underwood branding and remains housed in its original carrying case fitted with a brass lock plate marked U.T.Co. Inc. (Underwood Typewriter Company).

A ribbon is fitted and the machine has been lightly tested, producing typed text as shown in the photographs. Due to age and the specialist nature of antique typewriters, no guarantee is offered regarding long-term functionality and the machine may benefit from cleaning, adjustment or servicing.

Condition:

Good antique condition for age.

The typewriter shows expected cosmetic wear, marks, paint loss, dust and signs of use consistent with a machine approaching 100 years old. The carrying case also shows age-related wear and the handle has been replaced with a period-style rope handle.
