Antique Vintage Belgium Boy Scouts Wolf Cub cap with an embroidered silk badge. The badge has a scroll with the letters S.B. and P B. Between the letters, there is a Catholic Cross. There is a word embroidered at the bottom corner, which I cannot make out.
I believe this to be a very early rare badge,I have not been able to find this badge elsewhere .
The badge is hand stitched onto a classic woolen scout cap. The two old brass stars each flanking the badge signify specific ranks or years of service completed by the wolf cub scout.
The SB PB stands for Scouts Baden- Powell du Belgique. The Catholic Cross sits between the letters. Known today as Les Scouts, this originated from early Catholic scouting groups established in Belgium around 1911.
The very old cap itself has a maker's label 'Au Feu de Camping, Sports Camping'. There is also an embroidered and a hand written name label.
The cap is in vintage used condition with associated marks and wear. There is some fraying of the fabric, especially the lining. The badge is in very good order.
