During WWI, Longmont Farmers Milling and Elevator Company had massive contracts with the US Government to actively supply large-scale flour orders, fulfilling the need for wartime production.

The Longmont Farmers Milling and Elevator Company was an early 20th-century Colorado agricultural enterprise famous for producing "Pride of the Rockies" flour. Originating from a farmers' cooperative in Longmont, the company expanded operations to a major mill and grain elevator facility in Denver along the Platte Valley railyards.

History and Operations

• Foundation: Formed by regional grain farmers in Longmont, Colorado, in 1887 to store and process crops cooperatively.
• Denver Expansion: Established a physical presence in Denver by 1895, later building a prominent multi-story mill and elevator at 20th and Kalamath Streets (later addressed near 2000 Little Raven Street) around 1920.
• Wartime Production: Actively supplied large-scale flour orders, including massive contracts for the U.S. government during World War I.

Legacy and Historic Preservation

• The Building Today: The substantial former Denver mill structure survived industrial shifts and was converted into residential spaces known as the Flour Mill Lofts in 1998–1999.
• Historic Status: The Denver facility is recognized locally and nationally as a rare surviving physical reminder of the early 20th-century grain milling and rail-side industry in downtown Denver's Platte River valley.
• Collectibles: Antique paper ephemera from the company—such as 1910s and 1920s checks, vouchers, and stock certificates bearing the "Pride of the Rockies XXX" seal—circulate particularly among Colorado history collectors.

Fully open, the documents measure 8” x 7½” and are in excellent condition.
