Up for auction is a true holy grail piece of 1960s toy history. This is an original, authentic 1969 Aurora Cigar Box 12-Car Counter Display Box complete with all 12 original vacuum-metallized cars in spectacular, untouched, investment-grade mint condition.

THERE ARE NONE IN EXISTENCE IN *THIS* CONDITION - THEY ARE DELICATE AND DEGRADE EASILY AN INVESTMENT THAT WILL ONLY GO UP!

This set represents an incredible time capsule. The inner lid features period-correct store handwriting from 1969 showing individual pricing ("59¢ each") and the complete set price ("SET 5.99"), cementing its provenance as a genuine toy or department store counter display piece. *Note: Box Has *RARE* Undamaged & Clear Display Box Cover - Not Originally Listed!

The Cars: Every single one of the 12 cars is in flawless, museum-quality mint condition. The notoriously fragile vacuum-metallized "shiny foil" finishes are exceptionally bright with a brilliant mirror reflection and no flaking. Axles are perfectly straight.

The Packaging: The original yellow cardboard display box is in Excellent condition with crisp graphics, rich colors, and solid structural integrity. The original white molded inner plastic divider tray is completely unbroken, crisp, and has not yellowed or cracked with age.
