A really lovely old square jar from the late 1800s to early 1900s. Antique polish jar in with a rustic coat of mineralisation and light patina which gives a little iridescent sheen in certain light.
Would look lovely in a home or shop display. These also make very cute plant propogation jars or a mini posy vase!
It measures 10cm tall and is four sided.
This bottle was uncovered in the NSW, Australia.
Mineralisation:
The surface of glass will react variably, over a long period of time, to the natural chemical processes of decomposition in both water and the earth. This process of weathering is called mineralisation or patination. The results of this decomposition is a crust or other glass surface alteration. Glass is made primarily of sand, soda, and lime with the water soluble soda content being the part that is easiest to be leached out of the glass by contact with soil and moisture.

the earth. As they are authentic vintage found excavated pieces, some may have
small scratches/chips/marks. I have
cleaned all items with a slow soak bath in gentle detergent; however, some may
retain slight remnants of dirt or rust which should be able to be removed with
a more rigorous clean. Other various items included in photos are not for
purchase/not included in the sale.
