Blue Deviant Tarot by Lynyrd-Jym Narciso 2022 Kickstarter – 79 Cards

The Blue Deviant Tarot is a 2022 Kickstarter deck by prolific Filipino tarot artist Lynyrd-Jym Narciso. Created in cooperation with Trzes-Art, the campaign attracted only 148 backers, making this an uncommon independently published edition.

The deck brings together artwork Narciso originally created for his DeviantArt account during the especially productive period from approximately 2004 through 2008. He selected the final images from roughly 500 works and adapted certain details to correspond with the meanings and structure of the tarot.

Its title carries several personal meanings. Deviant refers both to DeviantArt and to Narciso’s unconventional approach as a largely self-taught artist. Blue references his former online name, blue-fusion, his preference for muted blue tones, and the difficult emotional period during which much of the artwork was created.

The resulting deck is intentionally varied rather than restricted to one uniform style. Its imagery ranges from whimsical, gentle, and magical to introspective, serious, and occasionally dark. This variation documents an important period in Narciso’s artistic development and makes the deck feel like both a functional tarot and a retrospective collection of his early work.

The cards follow the familiar Rider-Waite-Smith system and include an additional 79th card, The Happy Squirrel. They were produced on substantial 330gsm casino-quality cardstock.
