Beautiful, authentic piece of mid-century modern design history: a vintage art pottery pitcher vase manufactured by the renowned West German company, Bay Keramik.

Produced during the height of the iconic West German pottery boom in the late 1960s to early 1970s, this collectible vase features a striking, deeply molded geometric folk relief pattern.

The design wraps around the entire body, showcasing a register of bold triangles, textured stamping, and raised circle-in-diamond motifs.

The vase is finished in a rich, glossy ochre-mustard and deep brown glaze.
The runny nature of the glaze allows it to pool heavily inside the recessed patterns, creating an exceptional three-dimensional depth and a beautiful contrast that epitomizes the "Fat Lava" era of ceramics.

This piece is in very good vintage condition, especially considering its 50+ year history.

Label: It features its incredibly rare, original "BAY KERAMIK" paper/foil manufacturer label affixed tightly to the neck.

Surface: The glaze possesses a wonderful, high-gloss shine. There is a fine, uniform network of age-related glaze crazing across the surface, which is completely natural, expected, and serves as an excellent marker of authentic mid-century age.

No cracks, chips, or repairs are present.

Base: The unglazed foot ring shows light shelf wear consistent with age.

Markings:The base is clearly marked with the embossed stamp: "W. GERMANY 93 17".
The "93" indicates the specific design shape/form, and "17" specifies the factory height class in centimeters.
