A sterling silver knife rest, 3 7/8 inches long and 1 5/8 inches high, unmonogrammed, hallmarked for Sheffield sterling 1900 (crown, lion passant, date letter h) with maker's mark JD WD in a shield (for John & William Deakin), a sturdy 1.48 troy ounces, in good antique condition without dents, breaks or repairs. 

(I can't help it--this style reminds me of a balloon animal!)
