This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is 5½ x 3½ inches (140x90mm).

It shows a small coastal vessel moored alongside a wooden dock. The boat features a dark hull with a white stripe, a small wheelhouse at the stern, and a tall mast with a derrick. Wooden fenders hang over the side of the hull against the dock. In the background, there are wooden buildings, sheds, and a fence along the waterfront.

The reverse has handwritten text reading 'Siv of Mandal.' in the top left corner. A stamp in the centre reads '1 393'. At the bottom, there is a stamp for 'Spindrift Photos.' and handwritten initials in the bottom right corner.
