This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is 5½ x 3½ inches (140x90mm).

It shows a small sailing boat with dark sails moving across the water in a harbour setting. The boat has a single mast and is rigged with a mainsail and a jib, with at least one person visible on board. In the background, there is a stone quay with several buildings, including a two-storey brick structure with multiple windows. Industrial elements are visible along the quayside, including tall cranes and what appears to be a railway wagon.

The reverse has a handwritten pencil annotation reading 'Mary Ann of Courtown'. There is also a purple ink stamp that reads 'R. J. SCOTT, 11 WOODBINE AVE. STILLORGAN RD., DUBLIN.'
