A sterling silver covered butter dish with pierced sterling mazarin (or caviar dish with glass liner--not included), 7 1/2 inches long by 6 1/4 wide at decorative rim and 5 inches high at finial, unmonogrammed likely with well done removals on both sides of the lid, marked J E CALDWELL and STERLING, weighs an incredible 26.77 troy ounces, in excellent condition without dents, breaks or repairs. The photos show an awful lot of reflection but the piece is uniformly nicely polished without tarnish.
