A very beautiful old full-size (4/4) violin with a label reading:

“Lor. e Tom. Carcassi, in Firenze nell’ Anno 1764, All’ Insegna del Giglio.”

The violin is stamped “Carcassi” above the label.

The violin features a very rich golden-brown varnish. Due to its age, the instrument has some varnish scratches as well as several non-critical cracks in the body that have been professionally repaired.

The violin is ready to play and is fitted with a rosewood setup, a new bridge, and new strings.

The back length measures 358 mm, and the total length is 590 mm. The width across the upper bouts is 167 mm, the middle bouts 114 mm, and the lower bouts 204 mm.

The tone is powerful, warm, deep, and full.

High-quality photographs have been taken so that the details of the violin can hopefully be seen clearly. If you would like photographs from a particular angle, please feel free to ask — additional pictures can gladly be provided.
