Two single-pole, double-throw switches bring new functionality: When the first switch (the multiswitch) is on, the neck pickup is always active, regardless of the five-way switch setting. For example, switch on + 5-way switch in bridge position = neck and bridge pickups work together. The bridge pickup has a single-pole, double-throw (push-pull) switch (second switch). Turning on the single-pole, double-throw switch gives you a different tone, and the humbucker will change to a single-coil pickup tone, a very powerful feature.
