Superb vintage Knirps full-length umbrella, made in England.

A particularly attractive period example with a dark navy blue 100% nylon canopy finished with a bold red border and contrasting striped trim. Features a traditional polished wooden crook handle, metal frame and the distinctive Knirps red-dot branding.

The original sewn label reads:

MADE IN ENGLAND
Knirps
100% NYLON

It also retains its small metal Knirps red-dot hanging tag.

Knirps is the historic umbrella brand associated with the development of the modern folding umbrella. The red-dot branding was introduced around 1969, and this example appears consistent with approximately the 1970s period, although its exact year of manufacture is unknown.
