Original handwritten Civil War soldier letter dated February 21, 1863 from Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Signed John G. Parsons and addressed to Dallas Laughlin. The writer identifies his unit as Company K, 3rd Regiment O.V.I. (Ohio Volunteer Infantry).

The letter discusses the regiment’s camp near Murfreesboro, work on fortifications, the railroad and pike bridges over Stone River, troop health, weather, military pay, and a request for postage stamps.

Letter shows age-related staining, fold lines, ink spots, and general wear.
