This 11in Crown of Thorns is an authentic replica, hand-made in Israel. The crown is associated with the events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus, when, according to three of the canonical Gospels, a woven crown of thorns was placed on His head. It is described as one of the instruments of the Passion, used by Jesus' captors to cause pain and mock His claim of authority. The plant associated with this replica is scientifically known as Euphorbia Milli, a thick-stemmed plant that grows in the desert of Jericho and near the Dead Sea, approximately 30 miles from Jerusalem.
