Large Chinese or Japanese wooden jewellery/sewing box with a black lacquered finish and intricate mother of pearl inlays in floral and bird designs.

The box has sustained damage over the years with some lacquer loss on corners and the base. There's some loss of mother of pearl inlays. Key is missing.
