Besonderheit & Bemerkung
Sie bieten hier auf eine Original-Fotografie von Horst Thorau.
Der per Hand entwickelte Schwarzweißabzug entstand wohl Ende der 1970er Jahre. Thorau besuchte einen großen Industriebetrieb und dokumentierte mit der Kamera die Glut des Ofens einer Gießerei und verschiedene Arbeiter.
Möglicherweise handelt es sich um eine Produktionsstätte des aus dem traditionsreichen Gruson-Werk hervorgegangenen Schwermaschinenbau-Kombinats „Ernst Thälmann“ (SKET) in der Heimatstadt des Fotografen, Magdeburg.
Bekannt als Fotograf und einflussreich als Lehrer
Thorau verstarb 1989, kurz vor der Wende in der DDR. Er hinterließ als Hochschullehrer an der HGB Leipzig eine große Zahl von Schülern, die den wichtigen Einfluss des Lehrers auch in späteren Jahren noch artikulierten und im eigenen Werk weiterleben ließen. Immer habe er die Schüler bestärkt und befördert, ihren eigenen Weg zu gehen.
In verschiedenen Fachbüchern setzte sich der Fotograf auch mit der wichtigen Technik der Fotomontage auseinander.
Das Werk stammt aus einer großen Sammlung mit Fotografien des Künstlers.Die ganze Bandbreite des Könnens und die Experimentierfreude des „Fotografikers“ sind hier vertreten. Landschafts-, Architektur- und Porträtfotografie, teilweise künstlerisch bearbeitet, mit verschiedenen fotografischen Effekten wie Entwicklungs- und Belichtungszeit, Solarisation oder Negativabzug.

Horst Thorau wurde 1930 in Berlin geboren und verstarb 1989 in Leipzig.
Thorau erhielt von 1948 bis 1949 eine fotografische Ausbildung am Lettehaus in Berlin. Von 1951 bis 1954 studierte an der Fachschule für angewandte Kunst Magdeburg unter Johann Graf und Karl Sütterlin Fotografie. Danach arbeitete er als Fotograf an der Deutschen Akademie der Künste in Berlin.
1956 ging Thorau nach Magdeburg zurück und war dort als Dozent für Fotografie an der genannten Fachschule bis zu deren Schließung 1963 tätig. Ab 1963 bis zu seinem plötzlichen Tod 1989 war Thorau an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig (HGB) neben Heinz Föppel und später Peter Pachnicke (1942 – 2019) der leitende Dozent für das Fernstudium. 1970 legte Thorau an der HGB sein externes Diplom ab.
In Leipzig war er Lehrer und Mentor zahlreicher bedeutender DDR-Fotografen, so beispielsweise von Harry Hardenberg, Manfred Paul, Dietmar Riemann, Gundula Schulze Eldowy und Eberhard Thonfeld.
Neben seiner Lehrtätigkeit war Thorau als Fotograf bekannt für seine Landschaftsbilder und Industrielandschaften sowie seine Fotomontagen und Fotografiken in unterschiedlichsten Techniken. Fotografien Thoraus finden sich in zahlreichen Büchern und Bildbänden.
Thorau war an zahlreichen Ausstellungen im In- und Ausland beteiligt.

You are bidding on an original photograph by Horst Thorau.
The hand-developed colour print was probably taken at the end of the 1970s. Thorau visited a large industrial plant and documented the embers of a foundry furnace and various workers with his camera.
It is possible that this is a production facility of the ‘Ernst Thälmann’ heavy engineering combine (SKET), which emerged from the traditional Gruson factory in the photographer's hometown of Magdeburg.Renowned as a photographer and influential as a teacher
Thorau died in 1989, shortly before the fall of communism in the GDR. As a university lecturer at the HGB Leipzig, he left behind a large number of students who continued to articulate the important influence of their teacher in later years and allowed it to live on in their own work. He always encouraged and promoted his students to go their own way.
In various specialised books, the photographer also explored the important technique of photomontage. The work comes from a large collection of photographs by the artist.The entire range of skills and the joy of experimentation of the ‘photographer’ are represented here. Landscape, architecture and portrait photography, sometimes artistically processed with various photographic effects such as development and exposure time, solarisation or negative printing.

Horst Thorau was born in Berlin in 1930 and died in Leipzig in 1989.
Thorau received photographic training at the Lettehaus in Berlin from 1948 to 1949. From 1951 to 1954, he studied photography at the Magdeburg College of Applied Arts under Johann Graf and Karl Sütterlin. He then worked as a photographer at the German Academy of Arts in Berlin.
In 1956, Thorau returned to Magdeburg and worked there as a lecturer in photography at the aforementioned technical college until it closed in 1963. From 1963 until his sudden death in 1989, Thorau was the leading lecturer for distance learning at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig (HGB) alongside Heinz Föppel and later Peter Pachnicke (1942 - 2019). Thorau completed his external diploma at the HGB in 1970.
In Leipzig, he was a teacher and mentor to numerous important GDR photographers, such as Harry Hardenberg, Manfred Paul, Dietmar Riemann, Gundula Schulze Eldowy and Eberhard Thonfeld.
In addition to his teaching activities, Thorau was known as a photographer for his landscapes and industrial landscapes as well as his photomontages and photographic prints in a wide variety of techniques. Thorau's photographs can be found in numerous books and illustrated books.
Thorau has participated in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad.

Horst Thorau est né à Berlin en 1930 et est décédé à Leipzig en 1989.
Thorau a suivi une formation photographique au Lettehaus de Berlin de 1948 à 1949. De 1951 à 1954, il étudie la photographie à l'école supérieure d'arts appliqués de Magdebourg auprès de Johann Graf et Karl Sütterlin. Il a ensuite travaillé comme photographe à l'Académie allemande des arts de Berlin.
En 1956, Thorau retourne à Magdebourg et y travaille comme professeur de photographie à l'école technique susmentionnée jusqu'à sa fermeture en 1963. De 1963 jusqu'à sa mort soudaine en 1989, Thorau est le principal professeur d'enseignement à distance à l'Académie des arts visuels de Leipzig (HGB), aux côtés de Heinz Föppel et, plus tard, de Peter Pachnicke (1942 - 2019). Thorau a obtenu son diplôme externe à la HGB en 1970.
À Leipzig, il a été le professeur et le mentor de nombreux photographes importants de la RDA, tels que Harry Hardenberg, Manfred Paul, Dietmar Riemann, Gundula Schulze Eldowy et Eberhard Thonfeld.
En plus de son enseignement, Thorau a été le mentor d'un grand nombre de photographes de la RDA.
Outre ses activités d'enseignant, Thorau était connu en tant que photographe pour ses paysages et ses paysages industriels, ainsi que pour ses photomontages et ses tirages photographiques dans une grande variété de techniques. Les photographies de Thorau figurent dans de nombreux livres et ouvrages illustrés.

Expédition internationale
Vous trouverez nos frais d'expédition pour les livraisons internationales après avoir saisi votre adresse de livraison à la caisse. En fonction du pays de livraison et de la valeur des marchandises, il peut y avoir des frais supplémentaires pour le dédouanement, qui ne sont pas indiqués au moment de la commande. Si tel est le cas, nous vous en informerons.
Fin de l`enchére
À la fin de l`enchére vous êtes informés par mail des modalités de paiement.
La marchandise est généralement expédiée le jour ouvrable suivant le paiement ou dans les 48 heures suivantes. Nous interrogeons les paiments bancaires en ligne plusieurs fois par jour et transmettons ceux-ci immédiatement à l`expédition.
