The notebook contains extensive handwritten entries relating to sermons and religious teachings. Interior writing identifies New Haven, Connecticut, and multiple entries are dated 1853 and 1854.

The manuscript appears to have belonged to an individual whose name is handwritten inside and on the cover. The exact spelling of the name has not been independently verified.

Antique condition with substantial age-related wear. Cover has heavy surface wear, staining, edge and corner loss, and deterioration. Interior pages show toning, staining, spotting, edge wear and other signs of age. Binding is worn and some areas appear fragile.

No attempt has been made to clean, repair, or restore the manuscript.
