A heavy-duty brass dental mould and press dating to the 1930s or 1940s, made by Minerva — a well-regarded manufacturer of dental equipment throughout the 20th century. These robust instruments were used in the fabrication of dentures: designed to hold plaster models of the mouth and apply controlled pressure to vulcanise or press denture materials into shape. A substantial, beautifully made piece of industrial dental history.
