Rare Vintage 1996 "Silent Prayer" Austin Sculpture by John Cutrone
An amazing and RARE signed sculpture by renowned artist JOHN CUTRONE for Austin Sculpture.
It is called "SILENT PRAYER" .
This incredible piece of work is breathtaking in its appearance. The praying hands are mounted to the base & the face is attached to the back of the thumbs.
The appearance from the front is that the face is free-floating.
It is signed, "CUTRONE" in the centre of the back of the face and at the bottom is the "Austin Sculpture" mark and the date stamp 1996.
It is made from a material called Durastone and has gold and silver finishes and sits on a black base.
It measures 35cm Tall, 24cm wide and 14cm deep
It weighs 1.82Kg
The sculpture itself is in excellent condition, no chips, no scratches and no restoration
The base is quite crudely made
It has a timber framework and coated in a vinyl finish
There is some damage to the vinyl on one side and in places the top board appears bigger than the base
Quite unusual from the ones ive seen , to still have the felt base attached
That said , its a great addition to any modern contemporary design sculpture collection.
