The painting insight is measuring about 10 ½" (27 cm) by 16" (41 cm), and the frame is measuring 18 ½” (47 cm) by 23 ½” (60 cm).

It is signed and dated by the artist in the lower left corner.

This painting would be a very sound investment and a great addition to any collection.

                              Serif Renkgorur (1887-1947)

Şerif Renkgörür was born in Istanbul in 1887. He graduated from the Military Academy (Harbiye) as a lieutenant in 1907. Having attracted attention with his artistic endeavors during his student years, he had the opportunity to hone his craft in Halil Pasha’s studio at the Academy.
Renkgörür traveled to Europe in 1913 to study in art centers such as Munich and Paris; he was a member of the Military Painters' Art Association and the People's Houses (Halkevleri) Painting Union, regularly participating in exhibitions organized by these groups.
In his book "Turkish Painters", Pertev Boyar describes him as follows: "He discovered a secret of the art of painting—that of integrating details into the beauty of the overall mass—which is not granted to every artist. Had he strived to develop his own unique identity rather than emulating the styles of certain painters he admired, he would undoubtedly have achieved even greater success. Nevertheless, among the officer-painters, he can be ranked as an artist of near-first-rate ability."
