Here we have a charming 20th century English school oil on board of a portrait of “Englands Rose” on the high seas in full sail. Being the first ship to enter the new dry dock on the Strand Yard of Holman’s 30th May 1858. Built by John Holman at Topsam in 1858 for the Holman Fleet. Here seen entering the English Channel with house flag at mast. The artwork is signed indistinctly lower right (possibly E. Vovsey) and dated 1995. A wonderful large painting which would grace any wall in your home.
