Offering this Chinese celadon colored bowl covered with archaic calligraphy from the Xuande period of the Great Ming Dynasty. This bowl is 6 1/2" in diameter and stands 2 7/8" tall. It has blue calligraphy and a brown rim. The calligraphy translates as follows:
The phrase on the bottom of the bowl "大明宣德年制" (Dà Míng Xuāndé Nián Zhì) translates to:
"Made in the Xuande Period of the Great Ming Dynasty"
If these are original, this would mean these were made between 1426-1435!
This is preowned and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is crazing in the glaze as shown.
