Pfitzer Rommel (1915-2000) Listed Artist Original Oil Painting on Stretched Canvas of a Door - Fine Art !

This image is a particularly inviting one. Is it a pub door? Probably not. More likely the entrance to the parent's home, or a family friend!

Rommel's luminosity is of particular note. These are vibrant in indirect lighting, and depending on the degree of illumination in it's surroundings, change subtly with the different hours of the day! I've always felt that this was from the thicker impasto technique that Rommel employed with them to give the buildings a greater sense of depth.

Pfitzer Rommel was during his lifetime, referred to as "The Master of Light" - a title not without truth to it. Collectors of artwork that seem to radiate in the light often refer to him as well as the German version of Thomas Kincaide. I've always felt that Rommel's cityscapes add value to already extraordinary locations.

This is APPROXIMATELY 23.5 wide by 27.5 inches high by 3/4 inch deep. The only noticeable wear appears to be light border wear.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a town in the district of Ansbach of Mittelfranken, the Franconia region of Bavaria, Germany. It is well known for its well-preserved medieval old town, a destination for tourists from around the world. It is part of the popular Romantic Road through southern Germany. Today it is one of only three towns in Germany that still have completely intact city walls, the other two being Nördlingen and Dinkelsbühl.
