Rare Vintage Royal Crown Derby "Derby Roses" 11cm Fine Bone China Dish
A stunning, authentic piece of English porcelain history from the world-renowned Royal Crown Derby factory. This 11cm shallow dish features the beautiful, vibrant “Derby Roses” pattern (Design Code F961).
Design & Collector Details:
- The Pattern: Unlike the more common 'Derby Posies' line, the 'Derby Roses' design focuses beautifully on romantic clusters of traditional English cottage roses filling the inside of the bowl.
- The Gilding: Features a rich, hand-painted gold-gilded rim that elegantly extends down into the interior curves of the dish. It also includes the hand-painted red gilder's mark number “29” on the base.
- Rare Wartime Green Stamp: On the reverse of the dish you will find the official factory back-stamp printed entirely in dark green. Royal Crown Derby traditionally used red ink, but switched to green during World War II (1939–1945) due to wartime chemical shortages, making this a fantastic piece for collectors tracking historical variations.
Condition:
- Excellent vintage condition.
- No chips, cracks, crazing, or structural damage.
- The interior floral design remains vibrant and crisp.
- The hand-applied gold trim is bright and shows excellent preservation (please see photos for close-ups of the interior gilding).
