An exact broadcast log or track-by-track playlist for the Westwood One radio network special "Christmas Around the Country with Reba and Friends" (aired December 18, 2010) is not publicly available in digital music databases or radio syndication archives.
This CD specisl is extremely rare.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN
BOYS AND GIRLS,
FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS,
AND FANS OF GREAT COUNTRY ARTISTS FEATURING ONE ARTIST OVER THE ENTIRE HOUR
AND, HOW DO YOU DEFINE RARENESS??
THERE WERE NO MORE THAN 175 LPS OR CDS PRESSED FOR EACH WEEKLY SHOW. THIS REPRESENTED THE TOP 175 RADIO MARKETS IN THE COUNTRY AND ONLY ONE STATION IN EACH MARKET COULD AIR THE SHOW.
STATIONS IN MARKETS BELOW THE TOP 175 (THERE ARE 306 MARKETS IN THE UNITED STATES) HAD TO TAKE THE SATELLITE FEED OF THE SHOW FROM WESTWOOD ONE, THE SYNDICATOR OF THE SERIES)
AND, DUE TO CONTRACTUAL LEGAL OBLIGATIONS, EACH RADIO STATION WAS ALLOWED TO AIR EACH SHOW EXACTLY ONCE AND NO MORE.
SO, MOST RADIO STATIONS JUST DESTROYED THEM OR RETURNED THEM TO WESTWOOD ONE AFTER AIRING SINCE THEY WERE USELESS TO THE STATION. THERE IS NO TELLING HOW MANY OF EACH SHOW SURVIVED.

Westwood One was notable for its coverage and location recording of live concerts and events for broadcast/distribution via LP, CD, satellite and since around 2010 exclusively through satellite digital download . They syndicated the summer solstice Grateful Dead concert on June 21, 1989, a service that currently conglomerated radio stations no longer do. Since the merger with Dial Global, the company no longer records live music and has shut down its mobile recording division.
Westwood One syndicated several popular programs for a variety of music formats. Perhaps its most famous alumnus was Casey Kasem who spent over nine years hosting a weekly radio countdown franchise for the network.
Other shows included The Beatle Years with Bob Malik (originally hosted by Elliot Mintz and later J.J. Jackson), Beatle Brunch with Joe Johnson, Country Countdown USA, Superstar Concert Series, "Absolutely Live," Country Gold (in most markets, also known as Country Gold Saturday Night, Randy Jackson's Hit List, 106 and Park Weekend C countdown with Terrence and Rocsi, MTV countdown shows and Specials, TRL Weekend Countdown, Off the Record first with Mary Turner and latest Joe Benson, VH1 Concerts and Specials, ), Out of Order with Jed The Fish, Country Six Pack of holiday music specials, the Dr Demento Show, and more.
Talk radio personalities distributed by Westwood One included at various times Don and Mike, Phil Valentine, Dennis Miller, Jim Bohannon, Billy Bush,, Joe Scarborough, Kevin and Bean, Opie and Anthony, Adam Carolla and many others. The company syndicated these shows across AM and FM affiliates
Westwood One also syndicated many sports specials
The company was founded by Norm Pattiz in 1976. At the time, he was a former advertising sales executive with KCOP Television in Los Angeles. He was listening to a local radio station doing a Motown weekend and decided to syndicate The Sound of Motown which was a huge success. He added several more shows during the 1970s. In 1981, Pattiz started recording live concerts for broadcast. Westwood One became the leader in live broadcasts and concert recordings for radio until May 2011. By 1982, he was also distributing his radio shows via satellite.
SO WHAT ARE THE BIG QUESTIONS IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT RADIO SHOWS?
LET ME TELL YOU BUT FIRST....
Allow me tell you my own personal story of discovering the wonder of radio shows.
I discovered radio shows quite by accident while reading one of my favorite (long since departed) magazines called "Discoveries" (It was later bought by the same company that publishes "Goldmine" which I personally always considered a lesser publication, but that is another story.
This was before ebay became the driving force in radio show sales (and everything else) in the later 1990's.
I was especially attracted in "Discoveries" to a two page (or more) spread in each issue by a guy called "The Old Hippie".
Let me tell you, the Old Hippie had it all. He was a real pioneer. Way before anyone knew what radio shows even were let alone tha REt they could be bought as rarities, he had the market cornered.
Most shows that he advertised were way beyond my budget but I drooled over those pages every issue and once in awhile I could afford one or two.
Now, I have attempted in my own humble way to take on the mantle of "The Old Hippie". I have listed over 11,000 unique radio shows of all genres for you all to drool over, and most at prices, hopefully, that collectors can better afford! I want to make available to collectors what I could not afford and especially in these days of higher prices and lesser availability.
Radio shows are harder and harder to find in quantity and the prices for the ones still out there just go higher and higher as they disappear from the market. However, because of my large presence on eBay, I am often contacted with selling offers, some of which I take advantage of and some I have to pass on because of the prices. I have found that by buying in bulk, even when many or most of the shows are lesser known but still amazing shows, I can offer the best prices on all titles.
NOW, EXACTLY WHAT IS A RADIO SHOW?
WHY COLLECT THEM?
WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?
Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them.
Radio Shows are syndicated productions by one of several large and small distributors who supply broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break.
Many air on par or Sunday mornings, afternoons or evenings or less often during overnight segments and weekdays.
They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others.
People collect them for various reasons.
Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all.
Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music. Rather than an album download, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj comments which were very entertaining.
Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments.
Some collect commercials
AND, these shows are in limited quantity.
They were pressed just for affiliate stations in the United States.
Many have just a few still in circulation.
Some of the more popular shows had as many as 175 shows pressed of each week's show, but think about it, only 175 pressed for some 350 million Americans and millions of overseas collectors who look for unique presentations of their favorite artists or form of music is about as rare as rare can be.
The 175 number represented the top 175 United States Metropolitan radio markets. Smaller markets could air the show but had to take the satellite feed once it became available to them.
How many survived as did the ones I have is anyone's guess.
This is because most stations just threw these away after network broadcast since they could not be aired again because of the dated commercial content and contractual obligations to which the station legally agreed to for the right to air the program.
So it is likely that very few still exist and they are increasingly hard to find
They were first distributed on reel to reel tape or on lp, later on CD and even later (after 2000 for most shows) on CDR. Now they are not available at all to collectors since they are distributed only through digital download
These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them. If they do later sell, it is to make a huge profit since prices go up all the time.
The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase.
I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money. I sell them for near what I bought them for. I give volume discounts and discount postage always. As the postal service increases their rates, my shipping rates over the years have decreased.
And, I have one of the biggest radio show libraries in the world consisting of over fifteen thousand unique shows, so many that I don't even know all that I have and am sometimes amazed when I go to look for one show and find another that I did not realize I had.
Finally, it is Americana at its best.
Whether the show be from the 60's or 2000's, rock, countdown, oldies, country, classical, religious, jazz or big band, it is unique and home grown.
And you just can't find them anywhere.
Even record stores that still exist will rarely have any. Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of music radio.
And every one you buy is an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions in the hundreds at most and most, like this special show, much less. Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life! Welcome to the Club!
Also, keep in mind that this and all radio shows are not just about the music - the music for the most part can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining.
As well, it is a piece of radio history. You just aren't going to find these shows anymore. Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.)
I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price.
As always, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy for U.S. buyers so the more you buy the more you save in shipping charges. And for my international friends, shipping is exclusively handled by the eBay International Shipping Program.
Good Luck and God Bless You.

SO HERE ARE THE BIG QUESTIONS:
WHAT IS A RADIO SHOW?
WHY COLLECT THEM?
WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?
Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them.

I have found that by buying in bulk, even when many or most of the shows are lesser known but still amazing shows, I can offer the best prices on all titles.
So, again, what is a radio show?
Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them. Radio Shows are syndicated productions by one of several large and small distributors who supply broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break.
Many air on Saturday or Sunday evenings or during overnight segments.
Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj presentations which were very entertaining.
Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments.
Some collect commercials especially old car commercials but certainly not limited to only those.
AND, these shows are in limited quantity.
They were pressed just for syndicated stations in the United States. Many have just a few still in circulation. Some of the more popular shows may have as many as a hundred of each week's show that survived but think about it. A hundred for some 200 million Americans and millions of overseas collectors who look for unique presentations of their favorite artists or form of music is about as rare as rare can be.
Many stations just tossed them away after airing because the storage space at most radio stations was very limited. (Believe me I know - I work at just such a station!)
SO they are increasingly hard to find.
They were first distributed on reel to reel tape if the show goes back that far into the 60's, then later on lp, later on CD and even later (after 2000 for most shows) on CDR. Now they are not available at all to collectors since they are distributed by digital download much like you get your music from iTunes.
These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them and the people who sell them, like me, are running out of them. My best contact for these shows is completely out of radio shows so I am at the mercy of finding a good deal here and there but never from a regular source.
The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase. I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a no holds barred guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money.
I sell them for near what I bought them for. I give volume discounts and discount postage always. As the postal service increases their rates, my shipping rates over the years has decreased.

And you just can't find them anywhere.
Even record stores that still exist will rarely have any.
Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of radio at least music wise. And every one you buy is an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions in the hundreds at most and most much less. Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life! Welcome to the Club!
IF YOU LIKE RADIO SHOWS FEATURING THE BEST MUSIC OF ALL TIME IN EVERY GENRE IMAGINABLE, YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.
SO, ON WITH THE SHOW!!!! Picture yourself back in the late 50's 60's, 70's through the 80's. You were glued to your transistor radio or later to your Sony Walkman listening to the top 40 presented by your local radio station. You had that radio glued to your ear or connected with the little earphone jack that immediately broke. Your local dj was great. He knew the music. He had the gift of talking which rarely occurs anymore. You loved the presentation of the music as much as the sounds. You liked the station jingles.
And on weekends when the local dj's had off, you listened to either taped shows they did during the week to be played on the weekend or a syndicated radio show featuring one of the greats.
It was the golden age of country and rock. Music was king and the dj's were just as popular. You can relive those days whether you grew up then or just wish you had on shows like this.
It is called JIM LADD'S HEADSETS
A two hour weekly special on Global Satellite Radio Networks
This show aired on FEBRUARY 7, 1994.
This show was titled VALENTINE'S DAY
It comes on 2 beautifully decorated CDs (not CDR.)
Jim Ladd is an American disc jockey, radio producer and writer, is one of the few notable remaining freeform rock DJs in United States commercial radio. Ladd first gained national prominence as host of the hour long, nationally syndicated radio program Innerview, which aired weekly on over 160 stations nationwide for twelve years. Ladd has interviewed the likes of John Lennon, The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Rush, U2, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, Led zeppelin, and countless more. It would likely be easier to name the famous musicians of our generation that he did not get to interview.
BUT HIS MOST CREATIVE PRODUCTION WAS THIS SHOW "HEADSETS"
This is a theme-based collage of music blended seamlessly together, with one song leading into the next, incorporating sound effects such as voice overs and quotes from movies relating to the theme. On this program Ladd creates what he calls the "Theater of The Mind" (headphones are recommended). In addition to music, the weekly "Headsets" show featured poetry performed and written by spoken word artists such as Helene Hodge and Victoria Cyr
It is a one of a kind presentation that must be heard to be believed.
You will enjoy great music and interviews and the best part is that you can hear them again and again, over and over, whenever you want.
Remember, when you buy this show, not only will you own the tunes but also interspersed between songs is fascinating commentary on the artists and songs and of course the priceless interviews.
Also, keep in mind that this and all shows are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining.
As well, it is a piece of radio history.
IT IS AMERICANA!
MOST PEOPLE DON'T EVEN KNOW THESE SHOWS EXIST AND SO DON'T KNOW WHAT TREASURES THEY ARE.
You just aren't going to find these shows anymore. Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price
Good Luck and God Bless You.
