THIS PIECE IS FASHIONED OF A STIFF CANVAS COTTON BASE THAT IS ALMOST COMPLETELY COVERED ON THE EXTERIOR IN METALLIC GOLD SOUTACHE WITH RAISED COUCHED DETAILING TO PORTIONS. METALLIC BRAID GOLD WORK RUNS THROUGHOUT
SLEEVES ARE ATTACHED AT THE COLLAR AND ARE OPEN FULLY TO THE BOTTOM WITH GOLD BUTTONS FOR CLOSING ON THE REAR SLEEVE EDGE
THICK GOLD BUTTON DETAILING WITH CORAL GLASS BEADING TRIMS EACH SIDE OF THE FRONT
THE INTERIOR IS LINED IN A IKAT STRIPED SILK
THIS PIECE WAS ACQUIRED FROM A CALIFORNIA PRIVATE MUSEUM COLLECTION
CONDITION: SOLD AS IT WAS ACQUIRED. NOTE THAT THE VISIBLE FABRIC ON EACH SIDE IS HEAVILY SHREDDED AND IS WELL WORTHY OF RESTORATION ALTHOUGH IT WOULD BE COMPLEX
DUE TO THE WEIGHT, PORTIONS OF THE BRAID ON THE REAR NECKLINE HAVE SEPARATED AND ARE IN NEED OF REPAIR ALONG THE SEAMS
THE SLEEVES WOULD HAVE ORIGINALLY BEEN LINED BUT THE LINING HAS BEEN REMOVED AND BUTTON HOLES ARE ABSENT
INNER SILK LINING IS FULLY INTACT. METAL RINGS WERE ADDED ON THE INTERIOR, I BELIEVE FOR A MUSEUM DISPLAY. COULD BE BE REMOVED IF DESIRED
