A striking hand-carved wooden shop sign (Kanban / 看板) in a unique 

pot-shaped design, once used to advertise a traditional Japanese 

candy/confectionery store (飴屋). 

🈷️ The upper section is carved into the shape of a jar and painted 

in gold with the character "あめ" (Ame / Candy). 

🈲 The hexagonal lower base displays the shop name "孝々糖屋" carved 

and painted in a warm coral/orange tone. 

🎨 Beautiful aged patina throughout, with natural wear consistent 

with age and storage — see photos for exact condition.
