Captain America #286 — Marvel Comics, cover-dated 1983-10-01
Captain America #286 opens a three-part Deathlok storyline from the J.M. DeMatteis and Mike Zeck era, with Zeck pencilling and John Beatty on inks. The cover — Zeck and Beatty — puts the battered cyborg front and centre, guns raised, with Cap reflected in the sights.
Inside, "One Man in Search of Himself!" sees Godwulf send a clone of Luther Manning back from 1991 to track down the Deathlok cyborg, pulling Captain America into a time-crossed hunt that runs across the next two issues.
This copy is a newsstand edition with the UPC barcode box printed on the front cover, dated October 1983 at the 60-cent cover price.
