Alessi 'MG22' wing corkscrew designed by Michael Graves, from the FAO range Alessi produced with F.A.O. Schwarz. Chrome-plated open-cage body on a flared base, brass helix, pale blue polyamide butterfly wings and the signature red ball finial — a proper piece of postmodern barware that works as well as it looks. Roughly 6 in high.

Complete with its original leopard-print FAO Alessi box, marked © Michael Graves and F.A.O./Alessi spa, Italy.

Condition: excellent used condition. It has been used and displayed rather than shut away in a cupboard, and it has come through that beautifully — the chrome is bright, the wings are unmarked, the helix is straight and the rack-and-pinion action is smooth. The photos show it both fully extended and screwed down.

The matching MG23 champagne stopper is also listed — happy to do a deal on the pair.

Sold as seen — please see the photos, which form part of the description. Tracked dispatch, worldwide postage offered.
