A distinctive handmade necklace featuring warm "root beer" amber-colored translucent beads arranged in decorative woven sections, and accented by faceted Aurora Borealis crystal-look spacer beads and gold-tone accents. I spent some time studying and photographing, weighing and feeling the surfaces and temperature. The translucent root beer-colored beads are believed to be vintage acrylic or Lucite, while the faceted light amber spacer beads may be glass, along with gold-tone metal spacer beads. The materials have not been professionally tested and are identified based on appearance and handling characteristics.
From the close-ups: the root beer beads have very little visible mold flash and a nice, rich translucency. They don't look like modern inexpensive craft-store beads. An impression is that this is probably a handmade necklace, assembled from quality components. All this of course is less than an educated guess, so please make your own decisions. I will say it's a striking piece.
