A very fine old master 4/4 violin, labeled Joseph Rocca fecit Taurini anno Domini 1847 TGR. The instrument is in ready to play condition with small repaired crack to right f-hole, small repaired crack to end pin. The violin has an excellent high grained spruce of the top and one piece back of irregular flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. Rich golden amber varnish with tears and wears shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 588 mm and the back 358 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 164  mm; middle bouts: 111 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm. The sound is very sweet, mellow, rich and powerful. Shipping worldwide insured
