Mounting — hinged and hingeless: This is a single Borek album, but the pages reflect two different eras of album page manufacturing. The earlier pages were produced before built-in hingeless mounts became standard, so stamps on those pages are mounted with traditional philatelic hinges. The later pages have factory-built-in hingeless mounts. This is consistent with how Borek issued annual supplement pages over the years — the binder is one continuous album system, but the page designs evolved as hingeless mounting became the norm. Spot-checking indicates that mint stamps on the hingeless-mount pages appear to be mostly completely unhinged (NH — never hinged), while mint stamps on the earlier pages will be hinged (HR). Used stamps are unaffected by this distinction.

Interleaving pages: Plastic interleaving sheets are present between the stamp pages throughout the album. In some instances these interleaves are creased or bent.

A note on used condition: For many German semi-postal and commemorative issues of this era, used copies are scarcer and more valuable than mint. This collection benefits from that — the used stamps you see are in many cases the more desirable state for collectors of this period.

Physical condition:

• Stamp pages: Mostly excellent condition though some hinge remains exist in empty stamp spaces. Examples are shown in the photos.
• Album front and binder: Good to Very Good condition
• Album back: Shows some scuffing, visible in the photos
