1975 MG Midget 1500 Sports Convertible Classic Car Easy Usable Fun Project Car
Advertising the vehicle for my dad who has owned the vehicle for 11 years (bought back in march 2015), been dried stored the whole time, previous to him buying the vehicle the vehicle went through an extensive restoration with documented photo album which will come with the vehicle, as time goes on and use, also being a 51 year old vehicle it does need a little bit of love, making this a usable classic project.
MOT and TAX EXEMPT and cheap classic car insurance and cheap readily available spares - Enjoy the classic car experience without breaking the bank
Super fun, 51 year old 2 seater sports car 1500cc engine with twin SU carbs makes all the right noises, with a 4 speed manual gearbox and lightweight body, it is a joy to drive.
Selling due to lack of use, should go to someone that has the time to enjoy sunny roof down weekend adventures.
The engine and running gear all work very well, no major issues or safety worries - can be driven and used as it is or if you like to tinker and have a little project to work on then this car is perfect for you!
(I will even chuck in a Haynes manual with the sale to help you along)
V5 log book is present, some mot certificates and parts receipts also.
The vehicle has been checked right through to find any defects, so you can been confident in what you're buying - even if you're still unsure, viewings are welcome and have a vehicle lift available to look underneath.
List of defects:-
- Washer aim and 1 washer missing - 2 brand new washer jets will be included with the car
- Both front king pins worn and have slight play - Brand new king pin set will be included with the car
- Interior fan does not work
- Reverse lights not working
- Rear exhaust mount broken (cotton reel style rubber mount)
- Slight oil leaks from engine, gearbox and rear diff
- Propshaft worn/slight play in sliding joint
- Rear bumper mounts corroded
- Offside front wheel arch and front valance slight corrosion
- Rear brake pipes slightly corroded

- Steering rack worn
- Front shock/pitman slightly soft
- The odometer is stuck on 10000miles and has not moved the whole time he has owned the car even though the car has been used and probably done around 4k miles since he has owned the vehicle (speedo still works)
- Paint has come off in couple areas (possible due to not being keyed fully or left in primer for too long while restoration was taking place, worst parts shown in photos)
As you see, the list of defects are about right for a classic of this age and still can be enjoyed and used
As well as the defects the car has had some love over recent years including:-
