This is a natural Blue John specimen from the Treak Cliffe Cavern, Castleton in Derbyshire and measures app. 2.7 x 2.1 x 1.8 cms and weighs app. 16 gms. This is a small specimen, mainly matrix with a small amount of dark Blue John Fluorite crystals.

Blue John is a form of Fluorite that has been mined in the Peak District around Castleton in Derbyshire for many years. It is named from the French word for its predominantly blue and yellow colour (Bleu and Jaune).
