Walter L. Colls; flourished 1894-1901, English professional copperplate etcher, engraver, and printer, issued yearly portfolios of photogravures on behalf of The Linked Ring during 1895- 1897 he etched the plates himself and printed the very fine photogravures issued with these portfolios. This being from his series of William Walcot etchings.

A fine photogravure which is bright and unfaded,in black ink, with excellent detail and textures, the image measuring approx. 18 cm x 11 cm (7 x 4 ins.) within an evident platemark and impression on a wove paper sheet, size 25 cm x 31 cm (10 x 12 ins.)

Unmounted, unframed and blank on the reverse, the condition of the image and sheet is good with handling marks condusive with age.
