This Pickwick Release of Roy Acuff, Wabash Cannonball features the title song along with, Fireball Mail, Precious Jewels, Wreck on the Highway, Pins and Needles, Night Train To Memphis, Come Back Little Pal, Lonely Mound of Clay, and Great Speckled Bird.

Roy Acuff says, of the Wabash Cannonball, "I can tell why the "Wabash Cannonball" became popular, at least I think I can. It had been recorded before I recorded it.

I used to work for the L&N Railroad. I was a callboy and I learned to copy those train whistles. I came up with this whistle that I used for years, though I can't do it now on account of the dentist, who has pulled my whistle. But I created a whistle in there that was like an engine in fast flight, and when I'd come in with the whistle, it attracted attention. People wondered how I was doin' it.  They would listen just to hear that whistle. It wasn't my singing you know. It was the whistle...

The cover for this LP record album has wear and stains. The plain white protective sleeve is in good shape. There is a slight scratch on track one of side one and the record crackles in a couple of places, but if there is a skip it is so slight as to be almost undetectable. I played track one through a couple of times trying to determine whether it was just a crackle or a skip. If that flaw is too much for you do not bid on this record.
