Zidane's last input, the ninth Predator

Developed with Zinedine Zidane after the 2006 World Cup — the Predator's ninth generation, refined for power, swerve and control.

The adidas Predator has run since 1994. The PowerSwerve, the ninth generation, arrived in 2007 developed in direct collaboration with Zidane following his retirement after the 2006 World Cup Final, applying his input to the silo's power and swerve properties.

Zidane's contribution shaped the PowerSwerve's refined rubber swerve elements and upper feel. Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard also wore the PowerSwerve at Liverpool and Chelsea through the 2007-08 Premier League season.

Key Technologies

PowerSwerve elements — Redesigned rubber zones on the upper engineered to maximise spin and swerve on driven passes and shots, refined with Zidane's input.
Synthetic leather upper — Lightweight synthetic construction replacing the kangaroo leather of earlier Predator generations to reduce weight while preserving touch.
Traxion soleplate — adidas Traxion stud geometry on the FG outsole, providing directional traction for quick acceleration and pivoting on firm ground.
