Natus / Xltek Brain Monitor / Connex EEG System – Neuroworks 8.5 – 32 Channel + Video + Masimo SpO₂ – Fully Tested
60 day warranty.
Includes acquisition computer with Neuroworks 8.5 installed and configured. Also included: Brain Monitor base, Brain Monitor breakout, USB night vision camera, USB microphone, 25 foot USB extension, powered USB hub, Masimo pulse-ox sensor, patient event switch, Logitech keyboard and mouse, and all necessary cables and power cords.
Note: The monitor is not included. HDMI, DVI, and Displayport cables are included so you can use a monitor you already have. A 1080p monitor is recommended. The included Lenovo ThinkCentre M910 supports dual-monitor configuration using any combination of the VGA and two DisplayPort outputs. One monitor will use the included Displayport to (HDMI/DVI/Displayport) cable and the other will use the other included Displayport to (HDMI/DVI/Displayport) cable or a VGA cable.
Let me know what you have for a 2nd monitor and I will substitute the 2nd Displayport cable as needed, or include a VGA cable. Otherwise I will include three cables: Displayport to Displayport, Displayport to HDMI, and Displayport to DVI.
Neuroworks 8.5 is included as installed on the system. No license transfer or vendor support is provided. The seller has extensive experience with these systems and is available for reasonable post-sale guidance and setup assistance upon request. This assistance is informal and not affiliated with or endorsed by Natus Medical Incorporated.
The system has been tested and successfully acquires EEG data in Neuroworks 8.5, including stable multi-channel signal acquisition. All input channels have been tested and work correctly. An Oxford XC90-III Calibrator was used to test the referential and differential input channels, and a DDS Signal Generator was used to test the DC input channels. The Masimo pulse-ox and patient event switch inputs have also been tested and work correctly.
Additionally, the modular jacks on both the breakout and the base unit have been inspected for corrosion, bent pins, and any other damage. If any damage was noted, they were replaced with the exact Tyco or Stewart part, ordered from Digi-Key. This, in conjunction with the new 25 foot breakout to base unit cable (included with purchase), eliminates the damaged cable and connectors which are the most common cause of "breakout disconnected" errors you may have seen with older equipment. If you'd like an additional breakout to base unit cable for a spare, or a longer one, contact me.
This is a complete and fully tested Natus / Xltek Brain Monitor / Connex EEG acquisition system.
The system supports:
• 32 referential EEG channels
• 6 differential channels
• 10 DC channels
• 512 Hz / 16-bit sampling
• Video and audio recording
• Masimo SET pulse oximetry input
• Photic stimulation output (5V TTL output, see scope capture in pictures, connector pinout provided; 6-pin mini-din)
The Brain Monitor base connects to the acquisition computer via USB or Ethernet (TCP/IP with DHCP or static IP supported).
Neuroworks 8.5 supports EDF and EDF+ export, allowing acquired EEG data to be analyzed using other software if desired.
Lenovo ThinkCentre M910
• Intel i5-6500 CPU
• 16 GB RAM
• Samsung 256 GB NVME SSD (OS drive)
• 2 mirrored 1TB Seagate Enterprise 7200RPM 2.5" drives (Neuroworks data drive)
• Second Broadcom network interface card
• DVD-RW
• New Logitech USB keyboard and mouse as shown in photo
Windows 10 IoT LTSC and Neuroworks 8.5 are installed and configured to work with the Brain Monitor system.
Windows 10 LTSC continues to receive security updates for several more years.
The system has been tested acquiring EEG data with the Brain Monitor hardware to verify proper operation.
The computer has been tested with:
• Memtest86 (24 hours, no errors)
• OCCT stress testing (4 hours, no errors)
Brain Monitor Base – REF 10388
Functionally equivalent to the Connex base.
The Connex is designed for tabletop use, while the Brain Monitor version normally mounts to a wall or pole.
This unit has rubber feet installed, allowing it to be used on a table or shelf.
Tested and working:
• 6 DC input channels
• Pulse-ox input
• Photic stim output
• Event switch input
• USB interface
• Ethernet interface
Patient event switch:
Standard nurse call push-button with 12 ft cable.
Includes custom adapter cable (LEMO to 1/4") allowing the button to connect to the Brain Monitor patient event input.
Total cable length approximately 24 ft.
Brain Monitor EEG / Sleep Breakout – REF 10395
All channels tested and working:
• 32 referential channels
• 6 differential channels
• 4 DC channels
• 25 ft breakout-to-base cable (this is a new cable, custom-made for this application using 26 AWG copper modular cord and Stewart connectors. This is NOT a CCA / "copper clad aluminum" cable; CCA cable is not reliable. Spare cables and longer cables are available. Contact me for info.).
• 14 ft Ethernet cable
• 20 ft Ethernet cable
• 6 ft USB cable (base to computer)
• Two 6 ft North American IEC C13 power cords (standard computer power cord) for base unit and Lenovo Thinkcenter M910
Video cables:
• 6ft Displayport to HDMI cable
• 6ft Displayport to Displayport cable
• 6ft Displayport to DVI cable
One Ethernet cable is used to connect the Brain Monitor base to the computer.
The second Ethernet cable may be used to connect the computer to your network.
The USB cable may also be used instead of Ethernet, or to reset the IP address on the Brain Monitor.
The included video cables may be used to connect the Lenovo ThinkCentre M910 to a monitor with either a DVI, HDMI, or Displayport input. A 1080p monitor is recommended.
All cables are tested and working.
• USB dome camera (3.6 mm lens)
• Auto IR illumination and IR-cut filter (day/night mode)
• 15 ft USB cable
Neuroworks records USB cameras at 480p resolution.
• USB conference microphone (6 ft cable)
• USB hub with power supply
• 25 ft active USB extension
Camera and microphone connect to the USB hub, which connects to the computer via the 25 ft extension.
Because the camera itself has a 15 ft cable, it may be located up to approximately 40 ft from the computer.
Includes Masimo pulse-ox sensor with 10 ft cable.
The cable is a Nellcor DOC-10 cable modified to support Masimo sensors.
This cable works correctly with the Brain Monitor system and allows full testing and operation of the Masimo pulse-ox input.
If your application requires an original Masimo cable, the modified DOC-10 cable can still be used for testing and verification of the SpO₂ input.
The system has been fully tested and verified working.
Connection diagrams and setup photos will be provided to help the buyer easily install and configure the system.
This listing includes the EEG acquisition system and items specifically described above.
Electrodes and any accessories not explicitly listed in the “Includes” section are not included.
