Dated 1960, this French enamel sign is a great combination of mid-century design and the Gallic charm, and even elegance of the pose of the workman, thoughtfully coloured in blue, making an item comprising all the elements of the French Tricolor !
The sign is in very good vintage condition, considering its years of use on French roads. Nevertheless, there are chipped and rusted areas to the enamel as you would expect. There are also two raised sections to the back with rebates, which would be useful for display purposes. Please see photographs.
Each side of the triangular sign measures approximately 64 cm. The edges are approximately 2 cm in depth although the raised sections increase this measurement to approximately 3cm.
