The way I figured out that this was made in 1996 is based on the other helmet designs in the collection. Teams changed their logos for their helmets (Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots) while other teams (Houston Oilers) no longer existed after 1996, or in one case not before 1996 (Baltimore Ravens).
