Here we have a superb 19th Century oil on panel by Belgium artist Charles-Philogène Tschaggeny 1815-1894. The painting features a 17th century Spanish Cavaliers on horse back taking a prisoner on foot to jail. This exquisite piece of artwork with such detail see the wall in the background showing the brickwork is brilliantly composed and is signed lower left. Another feature is that the artists has placed his wax seal to the verso see photograph. A wonderful antique piece which would grace any wall in your home.
