Elbow orthosis medi Epico ROMs - for mobilization with immobilization of the PRU joint

Various diseases of the elbow and forearm require an individual angle for immobilization. The medi Epico ROMs is suitable for both immobilization and gradual mobilization, as the angle of the elbow orthosis can be adjusted from 0° (fully stretched) to 120° (strongly angled).
Therefore, the area of ​​application of the medi Epico ROMs is very broad: This ranges from a dislocation of the elbow (elbow dislocation) to bone fractures in the elbow (epicondyle fractures) or upper arm (fracture of the distal humerus) to care after prosthesis implantation or elbow arthrolysis (restoration of mobility in the elbow). Thanks to the particularly light aluminum construction, the elbow brace is very light and comfortable to wear.

• Reliable immobilization of the elbow joint by fixing the upper and forearm
• Definable movement limitation (0° – 120°) ensures therapy-appropriate mobilization and thus promotes the healing process
• Avoidance of movements that pose a risk of dislocation and subluxation
• Avoiding the pronation and supination movements of the arm through hand rest

Indications

• All indications that require early functional mobilization with limitation of movement of the elbow joint and immobilization of the proximal radius-ulnar joint, such as: E.g.:
• The surgical refixation of the medial and/or lateral collateral ligaments
• Conservative treatment of elbow dislocations
• The surgical treatment of elbow dislocation fractures
• Medial or lateral collateral ligament plasty
• Surgically treated biceps or triceps ruptures
• Securing the healing result after prosthetic restorations

Contraindications

• Absolute contraindications:
• Wound healing disorders and wound infections
• Skin defects in open injuries
• Associated neurological damage, e.g. ulnar nerve
• Compartment syndrome
• Relative contraindications:
• Lymphatic drainage disorders
• Allergy to materials/ingredients
• Local irritation
