Vintage Metal Embossed Lidded Tea Caddy /Tobacco Jar Container Village Landscape. It looks like Burmese style but can't be 100% certain. It appears to be made of some sort of metal, copper or brass, and it looks like a dual-toned patina.
Used vintage condition with lots of wear, marks and rust inside and on the bottom. No stamps anywhere.
Height 8.5cm. Diameter on the bottom 6.7cm. Lid Diameter 7.6cm. Weight 165g.
The container features detailed repoussé and chased work depicting a traditional Asian rural or village landscape, palm trees, local thatched-roof huts (stilt houses).
Containers of this size and shape with tight-fitting slip-on lids were primarily designed to keep organic goods dry and fresh, such as loose-leaf tea, tobacco.
