WWE IC Champion Curtis Axel (w/ Paul Heyman in a wheelchair & Ryback) pinned Dolph Ziggler with the neckbreaker in a non-title match at around the 12-minute mark after Ryback dropped Ziggler with a clothesline outside the ring behind the referee’s back
Kofi Kingston pinned Fandango (w/ Summer Rae) at around the 13-minute mark with the spin kick to the head
Damien Sandow pinned Justin Gabriel with the Silencer at 3:39 after ramming Gabriel face-first into the middle turnbuckle; after the match, Sandow took the mic and noted he was still holding the Money in the Bank briefcase and would be the next world heavyweight champion (debut of the move)
Smackdown! – 9/20/13 – featured an opening segment in which Vickie Guerrero was introduced, with Vickie making fun of Daniel Bryan’s two short WWE World Title reigns before bringing him out to the ring; Bryan then said he would rather be champion for one day than be Vickie, with Vickie then saying she was giving him an opportunity to come clean and tell the truth; Bryan said the truth was the referee could have counted to 20 because Randy Orton was knocked out at Night of Champions; Vickie said she would have fired Bryan if she was COO and then noted Dolph Ziggler, Jimmy & Jey Uso, R-Truth, Justin Gabriel, Zack Ryder, Darren Young & Titus O’Neil, Kofi Kingston, and Rob Van Dam would be eliminated as well as Bryan; Vickie then said the Shield would face all of those men in a gauntlet match later in the show, with Bryan as the last participant; included an ad promoting WWEShop.com; featured an ad promoting WrestleMania XXX tickets going on sale Nov. 16; included a “Did you know?” graphic which read WWE has granted more than 5,000 wishes with Make-A-Wish in the past 27 years; featured an in-ring promo by Orton in which he said he went to anger management and locked away “the Viper of old” because that’s what everyone wanted, then adding Triple H and Stephanie McMahon helped bring that old Orton back; Orton said he made an example of Orton on Raw against Mike Mizanin, as Miz’s family watched from the front row, and promised to once again be champion; included a WWE ’14 ad featuring the Rock; featured a backstage segment in which Triple H apologized to Zack Ryder and Justin Gabriel for Vickie putting them in the gauntlet match, with Ryder saying they still wanted competition; Triple H said go out to the ring and he would give them some; included a backstage segment in the trainer’s room with RVD and Triple H in which Triple H apologized for RVD being in the gauntlet match and said he would get a rematch with World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio at Battleground; after Triple H left the room, ADR jumped RVD from behind and knocked him out before referees intervened; featured an ad promoting ‘Triple H: Thy Kingdom Come;’ included a “Did you know?” graphic which read the previous Raw was the most socially active show on cable TV, easily beating Monday Night Football on ESPN:
WWE Divas Champion AJ defeated Naomi (w/ Cameron) in a non-title match via submission with the Black Widow at 3:23; during her entrance, a pretaped insert promo from AJ aired in which she said she would eliminate all of the ‘Total Divas’ women, one by one; Natalya Neidhart provided commentary for the contest; after the bout, AJ taunted Natalya from the ring
Santino Marella pinned Jack Swagger (w/ Zeb Colter & Antonio Cesaro) with a backslide at 2:04; prior to the bout, Colter cut an in-ring promo in which he made fun of Marella for being Italian
Ryback (w/ Paul Heyman in a wheelchair & WWE IC Champion Curtis Axel) pinned Nick Nardone with Shellshocked at the 51-second mark; following the entrances, Heyman cut a promo at ringside in which he bragged about pinning CM Punk at Night of Champions with the help of Ryback; Ryback then took the mic, said he hated bullies, and knew Nardone was bullying a young fan earlier in the day
WWE US Champion Dean Ambrose, WWE Tag Team Champions Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins fought Daniel Bryan, Jimmy & Jey Uso, R-Truth, Justin Gabriel, Zack Ryder, Darren Young & Titus O’Neil, Dolph Ziggler, Jimmy & Jey Uso, Kofi Kingston, & Rob Van Dam to a no contest in a handicap gauntlet match at 8:58 when Triple H came out and stopped the match; all three members of the Shield were in the match at the same time; Vickie Guerrero sat ringside for the match; Reigns pinned Young with the spear at the 41-second mark; Reigns pinned O’Neil with the triple powerbomb at 1:57; Ziggler was counted-out at 5:37 after sustaining Reigns’ spear outside the ring; Ambrose pinned Kingston with the modified DDT at 7:11; the bell rang moments after RVD was knocked off the top to the floor; after the match, Triple H yelled at Vickie and said he wanted to see her in his office; following the commercial break, Triple H said the way Vickie handled it would have led to further revolt and she needed to make a match between Bryan & the Usos against the Shield for later in the night
Luke Harper & Erick Rowan (w/ Bray Wyatt) defeated Justin Gabriel & Zack Ryder at 1:07 when Harper pinned Ryder with the discuss clothesline; Wyatt sat in a rocking chair at ringside for the duration of the bout; after match, Wyatt dropped Ryder with the Sister Abigail as Rowan knocked Gabriel off the top as Gabriel attempted to intervene; moments later, Wyatt took the mic, said he keeps his promises, and they would continue to beat everyone that faced them; he then said it was “all for you, Abigail”
World Heavyweight Champion Albert Del Rio defeated R-Truth in a non-title match via submission with the cross armbreaker at 4:34
Daniel Bryan, Jimmy & Jey Uso defeated WWE US Champion Dean Ambrose, WWE Tag Team Champions Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins at around the 16-minute mark when Bryan pinned Ambrose with the flying knee to the head, moments after the Usos hit a double superkick to Ambrose from the arena floor
