Comics' shining goddess of light returns to comic book retail stores in a new series of deluxe 52-page comic books. The cover of Flare Deluxe #1 is by Daerick Gross Sr. Our titular heroine's featured adventure and a brief four-pager designed to bring new readers up to speed, are by Wilson Hill, Gordon Purcell, and Terry Pallot. An adventure featuring Flare's little sister Sparkplug is by Steve Perrin, Wilson Hill, and Henry Martinez. And an origin story for the ever-naughty Black Enchantress is by Wilson Hill and J. Adam Walters.
To be clear, the stories included in Flare Deluxe #1 have in fact appeared before. The original printings were in Flare #20 and Black Enchantress #1. What we're doing with Flare Deluxe is giving new fans an opportunity to discover our glittering heroine, and read stories they may never have had the opportunity to read before.
